Ordinal Number
Hi, Folks
Em Inglês os numeros ordinais ( isto é, 1º, 2º....) são um pouco diferente dos que conhecemos ( one, two...)
Take a look!!
1 – First
2 – Second
3 – Third
4 – Fourth ( a pronuncia th tem o som de " fi " no final )
5 – Fifth
6 – Sixth
7 – Seventh
8 – Eighth
9 – Ninth
10 – Tenth
11 – Eleventh
12 – Twelfth
13 – Thirteenth
14 – Fourteenth
15 – Fifteenth
(..)
(note que nas dezenas a partir do vinte, diferentemente dos cardinais, ao invés de ty, colocaremos tie, seguido do th)
20 – Twentieth ( a pronuncia eth tem o som de " éfi " no final )
21 – Twenty-first
22 – Twenty-second
(..)
30 – Thirtieth
40 – Fortieth
Abreviações:
As abreviações são formadas assim:
número + duas ultimas letras da palavra composta
exemplos:
First (1) = 1st
Second (2) = 2nd
Third (3) = 3rd
Twenty-fifth (25) = 25th
As dezenas, centenas e milhares são como nos números cardinais, apenas adicionando o th após o hundred/thousand/million
Centésimo = one hundredth = 100th
Milésimo = one thousandth = 1,000th
Milionésimo = one millionth = 1,000,000th
